Confession: I HATE being cold. Unfortunately I have hypothyroidism, so I can get cold in the middle of a gorgeous, summery day. My toes are cold right now – I will probably wrap a heating pad around them when I finish this post.
So when someone says, you have to get in 20 minutes of cardio today and it snows 8 inches, I’m going to bail. It was sooo cold when I woke up to a winter wonderland on Sunday.
Because of my knee injury, I knew I wouldn’t run – but would have instead cycled for the required 20 minutes, if the weather permitted.
Instead, Chris and I shoveled some pretty wet/heavy snow on Sunday – that’s gotta count for some sort of cross training. I felt it in my stomach. 🙂
Because I didn’t technically work out Sunday, today I decided it was time to try out the bike at the gym again. It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve been able to get in a cardio workout. I rode 30 minutes and level 1 – I really didn’t feel much going on with my knees, so that’s good!
I also got in some light lifting for my upper body… since my knee injury stemmed from leg extensions, I’m SO over lifting leg weights.
Tomorrow is considered a “rest” day, but I am tempted to attend a yoga class – I’d love to be as flexible as a gymnast again.
A HUGE thanks to my first online donators! Richard & Tanya, you are awesome!
