Little Dude is 12 weeks old, now where is that pause button?

You know the SUPER cliché saying to “enjoy the newborn phase, while it lasts” – well ya it is not a suggestion to be taken lightly.

The reason WHY you should enjoy it, is because it goes by so freaking fast!

When we got home from the hospital, we were exhausted but overcome with joy and happiness with our tiny new baby.

Luckily, our son is a good sleeper, so once that tiredness wore off, I realized the physical pain didn’t. Recovery was pretty rough. I couldn’t sit straight for about a month.

While I feel like I didn’t let it distract me from enjoying our son, I look back and wonder if I truly did my best.

*sigh* Welcome to motherhood, huh?

Happily, I take pictures of him every Thursday (since he was born on a Thursday) and plan to keep up this routine until he can’t stand the weekly photos. Then we’ll switch to monthly.

I have fallen in love with him a multitude of times in the last 12 weeks.  And while I can’t wait for him to say “I love you” back, I also feel a little sad that our Little Dude didn’t come with a “pause” button.

The next best thing is to take a bunch of photos, right?

Here’s a few of my favorite images from today:

He’s totally discovered his hands and keeps very busy with them. 🙂

And he’s been very talkative!
And watch out, I think he’s a stinker like his momma!
