before & after pictures: 100-sit-ups-a-day challenge

When I started this challenge, I didn’t really have many physical expectations.  I just wanted to meet the challenge of doing 100 sit-ups a day and feel stronger.

Not only was it mentally rewarding (to stick to a challenge), it was physically rewarding, beyond what I expected!  I have hypothyroidism, so extra weight doesn’t exactly dwindle away for me.

So, for 2-3 minutes a day, I dedicated myself to doing sit-ups… er: let’s set the record straight; they were more like crunches, but they were good ones: engaging my stomach muscles (not bobbing my head & neck around).

Anyways, this challenge rolled into other good habits, such as getting back into my water aerobics routine.  So for 50-60 minutes 3-5 times a week, I jumped in the pool and engaged in cardio and strength training.

So here’s the before and after pictures:

So the verdict? I lost 2 inches off my belly-button waistline! I didn’t lose any weight, but I am guessing (despite many, many Christmas cookies) I lost some fat and gained some muscle.  I feel this is true because I definitely FEEL stronger. 🙂

I should definitely do this challenge because abs are the one thing I will always scrap if I’m not in a class where it’s part of the workout. Great results Heather.
