A few people have asked me if I am missing Facebook & Twitter.
Yes and no.
This is day 6 without Facebook and Twitter and in some ways I miss my social media quite a bit.
Besides the friendships, I enjoy using it as a tool to find recipes and also using it as a tool to be a smart, informed consumer.
On the other hand, I am really enjoying what feels like a slowed-down pace of life.
I seriously didn’t realize how many “get busy” messages Twitter and Facebook slipped into my mind.
So far, I have struggled the most with not checking Facebook and Twitter while I am at my computer working.
What am I checking?
- I actually FEEL BORED when I’m waiting for a software program to load. I have a fast computer, so the SECONDS it takes to load, sometimes feels excruciating. Sad, I know.
- I might have the urge to see what my photography colleagues are doing or ask how they would proceed with a business predicament.
- I definitely think about asking experienced moms a question about taking care of Little Dude.
- I feel curious if someone had their baby or something exciting happened…
You get the idea. It’s unreal how social media has changed how we think about our situation and other people.
If someone were to tell me, 10 years ago, that I would be doing the above, I would have called them crazy.
