No TV means no Veggie Tales… which means a longer nap?! :)

Lent started yesterday and I already notice a difference in how my day goes.

Instead of using Veggie Tales or Baby Einstein to keep Little Dude busy for 30 minutes, I have been playing with him or having him play by himself.

He seems a little bored sometimes, so I decided to play some Veggie Tales music.

Total backfire.

He perked up, at first – then he looked around and didn’t see Bob & Larry.

By the time the tune got through:

“If you like to talk to tomatoes
If a squash can make you smile…”

He was bright-red and whaling… ummm, sorry Little Dude! I don’t have a Bob or Larry… not even a real tomato or cucumber you can look at.  I have a stuffed bear? A stuffed moose? A ball?!

Nada.

So I turned Veggies Tales music off and called Coral & Summer over to distract Little Dude.

*whew* saved by the dogs!

Needless to say, I won’t be playing those tunes again anytime soon.

On another note, he has been taking VERY short naps in the last month or so.  Maybe 30-60 minutes twice a day.  Usually no longer than 45 minutes at a time…. well today (after no TV), he is just now waking up from a 2 hour & 45 minute nap!  He might even go longer, but I see him wiggle around on the baby cam as I wrap up this blog post.

Thank you Jesus! If this is what it takes to get my baby to nap well, I’m sold!
