Juicing: pear, green apple, carrot, banana

This is one of the first juicing combos I’ve tried: pear, green apple, carrot, banana.

I used an apple slicer to quickly cut up the pear & apple.  The books recommend cutting carrots into 2-3 inch segments so it’s easy to push in the juicer.

I’ve also learned that my juicer works best when I juice the banana first. If I don’t, it hardly collects any juice from it… I’ve also been told bananas should be processed in a blender. Meh! That’s another appliance to clean, so I’d rather not.

This yielded right around 8 oz.

Orange from the carrot with a dab of yellow banana in the middle. 🙂

I enjoy this combo – it is fruity and sweet.  Pear aids digestion, I love Granny Smith Apples and the banana really “smooths out” the carrot taste.

my friend has a juicer and we really like to use celery in our combos- it has a great taste and lots of water in it!
