Juicing: beets, celery, garlic, apple, carrot, kale

Since we’ve had beets on hand, I’ve been trying different juicing combos… this one has kale in it.

Kale is hardy and I honestly don’t like it when it’s more than a couple leaves.

It does, however, give you a boost of energy (which I loved), is a great source of calcium, relieves joint pain, and digestion problems.

Beets stain, so if you are going to juice them, I would suggest wearing an apron or red. 😉

what juicer did you get- what price range was it in? PS juicing beets sounds interesting. I bet juicing will be even more fun when farmers markets start!

Kasia, I purchased the Waring JEX328 Pro Juice Extractor from Amazon, which ran about $50. 🙂
I am *so* excited for the Farmers Market season! I really want to juice watermelon & lime together. 🙂 mmmmmmm!

I will drop Mother’s Day hints for you, as needed. 😉 BTW, I also checked out the book The Juiceman’s Power of Juicing: Delicious Juice Recipes for Energy, Health, Weight Loss, and Relief from Scores of Common Ailments by Jay Kordich from the library and ended up ordering it with my juicer. It has a lot of good info in it (what fruit/vegs are best for which ailment) and also recipes. 🙂

I have been so inspired by your posts that I just ordered by own juicer today 🙂

So I just realized I got the same book as you too (checked it out from the library, it was the only one that was in when I went). He has some extreme views but I love the recipes 🙂
