When you let a 7-month old feed himself… (photos)

Our sweet baby boy is going to be 7 months old tomorrow. *sniff* Yesterday he turned 30-weeks old.

Really, we are so delighted to see him grow and reach new milestones but it is bittersweet to pack away another batch of baby clothes.

He is fitting 12 & 18 month clothes and seems to be most comfortable wearing a shirt and pants… not so much on the onesies.

When Chris grills, Little Dude will sit in his booster seat in the kitchen and watch his daddy do his thing.

His eyes are still mostly blue, but you can especially see flecks of green (I have green eyes) when we are outside or he looks out a window.

Little Dude loves any veggies and fruit we’ve offered him.  We have been getting organic food purees in handy “pockets” that make it easy to squeeze out just a little at a time.
Since solids are new to him, I thought it would be fun to see what happens when he is given the opportunity to feed himself.

What’s this, momma?

Hmmm, how will this fit in my mouth?
undefined
Um… it doesn’t fit in my mouth, momma.

Is it a hat? (look at that smirk)
undefined
Very proud of himself… 🙂

You want me to use this SPOON?
undefined
Awwww….
undefined
So, this is a spoon huh?
undefined
He is getting alarmingly close to figuring out how to crawl – he can pivot and rotate on his play-mat and gets his little bottom up in the air to inch his way to a toy.

Thanks for sharing! Heather, what I love most about this is you can appreciate the moment and memories as opposed to seeing a mess. You let him explore, have fun and for that the mess is worth it.

P.S. Get this kid an agent. He’s model material, the photographer helps too 🙂

Thank you Marci! 🙂 I absolutely don’t mind a mess! (of course we clean up afterwards) I will definitely be a finger-painting activity kind of mom. lol It helps him explore and understand what he’s doing better. The mess IS worth it! 🙂
