Prayers and Promises for Supernatural Childbirth book (my personal review)

After reading a book about hypnobirthing, I came to the conclusion that it could only help me to the degree of which I agreed with their affirmations.

While I like practicing the process of total relaxation, I was left wanting more to bridge the gap between my fears and ultimate control.  The affirmation of “I have control of my body” totally breaks my relaxed state when I hear it on the hypnobirthing CD.

I believe God has ultimate control of everything.

I believe that since he gives us each free will, I get to choose how to react to His plans.

I believe fear and pain are directly related to each other.

If I TRUST God, then I will have no fear.  Then labor & delivery pains (or any pain I go through) will decrease.  Maybe even disappear.  God is the miracle maker, after all.

I thought I might have to do my own research and look up all Bible verses on fear, pain, childbirth, surrender, trust… etc.

But then God nudged me in the direction to “stumble” upon a book called Prayers and Promises for Supernatural Childbirth. I found the Kindle version for $2.99 on Amazon.  SOLD! I clicked on the button to send it to my tablet and started reading right away.

I LOVE that this couple put together a book of scripture to refer to during the fear and pain of labor.

My plan is to print out each verse and put them on index cards, so I can use them as affirmation cards during labor.  I’ve been going through the book to type up each Bible verse to make these cards.

In order to prepare myself for labor, I want to read them each day.

I’d also like to figure out a way to get the audio of each scripture on my iPhone, so I can make a Prayers & Promises Scripture playlist in iTunes for labor & delivery.

I gave this book a 5/5 stars on Goodreads because I believe it will be a game-changer for the rest of this pregnancy, my labor & delivery – as well as the health of our baby! 🙂
